Chungcheongbuk-do Okcheon-gun

Registered foreigners in Chungcheongbuk-do Okcheon-gun number 1,383, which is 2.79% of the resident-registration population of 49,601. That is below both the national average of 3.14% and the Chungcheongbuk-do average of 3.9%. It ranks 121 among the 250 districts. Within Chungcheongbuk-do it ranks 7 of 14. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Khmer, then Nepali.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 2,517 in 2024, which is 5.3% of the resident-registration population of 47,416. Of these, 1,595 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 338 have acquired nationality, and 584 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 644, other foreigners 629, Marriage migrants 179, and overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 82. Children of foreign residents number 584, which ranks 178 among 252 districts and is 23.2% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 1,383 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 649 people at 46.9%, Marriage Migration (F6) with 161 at 11.6%, and Specially Designated Activities (E7) with 120 at 8.7%. Organizations that support immigrants number 4 in this district, or 28.9 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
