Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongju-si Sangdang-gu

Registered foreigners in Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongju-si Sangdang-gu number 1,720, which is 0.88% of the resident-registration population of 194,551. That is below both the national average of 3.14% and the Chungcheongbuk-do average of 3.9%. It ranks 237 among the 250 districts. Within Chungcheongbuk-do it ranks 14 of 14. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Chinese, then Thai.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 3,511 in 2024, which is 1.8% of the resident-registration population of 195,499. Of these, 1,970 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 558 have acquired nationality, and 983 are children of foreign residents. By type, other foreigners number 755, Marriage migrants 490, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 297, and foreign workers 283. Children of foreign residents number 983, which ranks 131 among 252 districts and is 28% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 1,720 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Marriage Migration (F6) with 436 people at 25.3%, Student (D2) with 282 at 16.4%, and Permanent Residence (F5) with 233 at 13.5%. Organizations that support immigrants number 7 in this district, or 40.7 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
