Jeollanam-do Jangseong-gun

Registered foreigners in Jeollanam-do Jangseong-gun number 1,411, which is 3.28% of the resident-registration population of 42,958. That is between the national average of 3.14% and the Jeollanam-do average of 3.69%. It ranks 97 among the 250 districts. Within Jeollanam-do it ranks 9 of 22. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 1,096 in 2015 to 1,411, an increase of about 28.7%. 34 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Vietnam at 29.8%, Cambodia at 14.7%, and Sri Lanka at 11.8%. It ranks 77 of 250 districts. Southeast Asia accounts for 66.9% and South Asia for 21.2%, and the two together are 88.1%. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Khmer, then Sinhala.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 2,599 in 2024, which is 6.5% of the resident-registration population of 40,067. Of these, 1,680 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 298 have acquired nationality, and 621 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 759, other foreigners 693, Marriage migrants 186, and overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 41. Children of foreign residents number 621, which ranks 174 among 252 districts and is 23.9% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 1,411 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 671 people at 47.6%, Marriage Migration (F6) with 187 at 13.3%, and Seasonal Worker (E8) with 159 at 11.3%. Organizations that support immigrants number 1 in this district, or 7.1 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
