Incheon Michuhol-gu

Registered foreigners in Incheon Michuhol-gu number 14,794, which is 3.54% of the resident-registration population of 417,578. That is above both the national average of 3.14% and the Incheon average of 3.11%. It ranks 88 among the 250 districts. Within Incheon it ranks 3 of 10. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 7,314 in 2015 to 14,794, an increase of about 102.3%. 104 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Korean-Chinese at 23.7%, China at 18.9%, and Vietnam at 13.7%. Shannon diversity (H) is 2.33, below the national 2.607, and ranks 112 of 250 districts. Within Incheon it ranks 7. By continent of origin, diversity is 0.105, below the national 0.123. It ranks 133 of 250 districts. East Asia accounts for 52.2% and Southeast Asia for 23.1%, and the two together are 75.3%. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Chinese, then Vietnamese, then Uzbek.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 24,155 in 2024, which is 5.7% of the resident-registration population of 421,789. Of these, 18,118 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 3,342 have acquired nationality, and 2,695 are children of foreign residents. By type, other foreigners number 6,985, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 4,393, International studentss 3,006, and Marriage migrants 2,124. Children of foreign residents number 2,695, which ranks 16 among 252 districts and is 11.2% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 14,794 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Permanent Residence (F5) with 3,614 people at 24.4%, Student (D2) with 3,033 at 20.5%, and Marriage Migration (F6) with 1,769 at 12%. Organizations that support immigrants number 8 in this district, or 5.4 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
