Gyeongsangnam-do Changwon-si Masanhappo-gu

Registered foreigners in Gyeongsangnam-do Changwon-si Masanhappo-gu number 2,750, which is 1.56% of the resident-registration population of 175,800. That is below both the national average of 3.14% and the Gyeongsangnam-do average of 3.53%. It ranks 196 among the 250 districts. Within Gyeongsangnam-do it ranks 22 of 22. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 2,159 in 2015 to 2,750, an increase of about 27.4%. 40 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are China at 28.8%, Vietnam at 22.3%, and Indonesia at 9.6%. It ranks 196 of 250 districts. Southeast Asia accounts for 43.2% and East Asia for 37.8%, and the two together are 81%. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Chinese, then Vietnamese, then Indonesian.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 4,693 in 2024, which is 2.6% of the resident-registration population of 178,265. Of these, 3,361 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 460 have acquired nationality, and 872 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 1,123, other foreigners 1,106, International studentss 539, and Marriage migrants 396. Children of foreign residents number 872, which ranks 145 among 252 districts and is 18.6% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 2,750 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 745 people at 27.1%, Student (D2) with 600 at 21.8%, and Marriage Migration (F6) with 359 at 13.1%. Organizations that support immigrants number 6 in this district, or 21.8 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
