Gyeonggi-do Yongin-si Cheoin-gu

Registered foreigners in Gyeonggi-do Yongin-si Cheoin-gu number 12,292, which is 4.36% of the resident-registration population of 282,044. That is above both the national average of 3.14% and the Gyeonggi-do average of 3.59%. It ranks 62 among the 250 districts. Within Gyeonggi-do it ranks 15 of 42. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 9,028 in 2015 to 12,292, an increase of about 36.2%. 82 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Korean-Chinese at 16.4%, Vietnam at 14.1%, and China at 9.8%. It ranks 71 of 250 districts. Southeast Asia accounts for 40.8% and East Asia for 31%, and the two together are 71.8%. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Chinese, then Khmer.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 19,355 in 2024, which is 6.8% of the resident-registration population of 286,273. Of these, 16,140 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 1,518 have acquired nationality, and 1,697 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 6,006, other foreigners 4,967, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 2,537, and International studentss 1,355. Children of foreign residents number 1,697, which ranks 47 among 252 districts and is 8.8% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 12,292 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 4,832 people at 39.3%, Permanent Residence (F5) with 1,557 at 12.7%, and Marriage Migration (F6) with 1,039 at 8.5%. Organizations that support immigrants number 6 in this district, or 4.9 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
