Gyeonggi-do Suwon-si Paldal-gu

Registered foreigners in Gyeonggi-do Suwon-si Paldal-gu number 12,659, which is 6.6% of the resident-registration population of 191,822. That is above both the national average of 3.14% and the Gyeonggi-do average of 3.59%. It ranks 24 among the 250 districts. Within Gyeonggi-do it ranks 5 of 42. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners fell from 14,758 in 2015 to 12,659, a decrease of about 14.2%. 77 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Korean-Chinese at 58.7%, China at 20.2%, and Vietnam at 6%. It ranks 175 of 250 districts. East Asia accounts for 81.4% and Southeast Asia for 9.3%, and the two together are 90.8%. The location quotient (LQ) for Korean-Chinese is 7.9, and this one nationality is 58.7% of the foreigners in the district. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Chinese, then Vietnamese, then Nepali.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 24,612 in 2024, which is 11.8% of the resident-registration population of 208,817. Of these, 20,905 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 2,481 have acquired nationality, and 1,226 are children of foreign residents. By type, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality number 9,111, other foreigners 6,929, foreign workers 2,634, and Marriage migrants 1,447. Children of foreign residents number 1,226, which ranks 94 among 252 districts and is 5% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 12,659 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Permanent Residence (F5) with 5,090 people at 40.2%, Visiting Employment (H2) with 2,286 at 18.1%, and Residential (F2) with 1,122 at 8.9%. Organizations that support immigrants number 11 in this district, or 8.7 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
