Daejeon Jung-gu

Registered foreigners in Daejeon Jung-gu number 1,675, which is 0.74% of the resident-registration population of 225,645. That is below both the national average of 3.14% and the Daejeon average of 1.97%. It ranks 241 among the 250 districts. Within Daejeon it ranks 5 of 5. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners fell from 1,694 in 2015 to 1,675, a decrease of about 1.1%. 51 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Vietnam at 25.7%, China at 14.9%, and Korean-Chinese at 10.4%. Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 4,026 in 2024, which is 1.8% of the resident-registration population of 220,497. Of these, 2,231 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 660 have acquired nationality, and 1,135 are children of foreign residents. By type, other foreigners number 1,006, Marriage migrants 563, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 302, and foreign workers 249. Children of foreign residents number 1,135, which ranks 112 among 252 districts and is 28.2% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 1,675 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Marriage Migration (F6) with 517 people at 30.9%, Permanent Residence (F5) with 258 at 15.4%, and Visiting Cohabitation (F1) with 207 at 12.4%. Organizations that support immigrants number 10 in this district, or 59.7 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
