Chungcheongnam-do Yesan-gun

Registered foreigners in Chungcheongnam-do Yesan-gun number 4,007, which is 5.08% of the resident-registration population of 78,815. That is above both the national average of 3.14% and the Chungcheongnam-do average of 5%. It ranks 49 among the 250 districts. Within Chungcheongnam-do it ranks 7 of 16. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 1,773 in 2015 to 4,007, an increase of about 126%. 44 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Vietnam at 20.6%, Nepal at 17.2%, and Cambodia at 8.8%. It ranks 31 of 250 districts. Southeast Asia accounts for 49.5% and South Asia for 23%, and the two together are 72.4%. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Nepali, then Khmer.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 6,067 in 2024, which is 7.6% of the resident-registration population of 79,848. Of these, 4,854 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 515 have acquired nationality, and 698 are children of foreign residents. By type, other foreigners number 2,119, foreign workers 1,778, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 600, and Marriage migrants 345. Children of foreign residents number 698, which ranks 163 among 252 districts and is 11.5% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 4,007 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 1,563 people at 39%, Seasonal Worker (E8) with 495 at 12.4%, and Specially Designated Activities (E7) with 347 at 8.7%. Organizations that support immigrants number 2 in this district, or 5 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
