Chungcheongnam-do Cheonan-si Seobuk-gu

Registered foreigners in Chungcheongnam-do Cheonan-si Seobuk-gu number 17,859, which is 4.44% of the resident-registration population of 401,852. That is between the national average of 3.14% and the Chungcheongnam-do average of 5%. It ranks 61 among the 250 districts. Within Chungcheongnam-do it ranks 9 of 16. The location quotient (LQ) for Vietnam is 2.4, and this one nationality is 31.5% of the foreigners in the district. Neighboring districts also fall in a cluster with high shares. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Chinese, then Khmer.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 26,301 in 2024, which is 6.3% of the resident-registration population of 415,144. Of these, 22,056 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 1,926 have acquired nationality, and 2,319 are children of foreign residents. By type, other foreigners number 6,806, foreign workers 4,909, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 4,708, and International studentss 3,870. Children of foreign residents number 2,319, which ranks 19 among 252 districts and is 8.8% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 17,859 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 3,597 people at 20.1%, Student (D2) with 3,127 at 17.5%, and General Trainee (D4) with 2,255 at 12.6%. Organizations that support immigrants number 3 in this district, or 1.7 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
