Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 20,698 in 2024, which is 19.4% of the resident-registration population of 106,652. Of these, 18,543 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 966 have acquired nationality, and 1,189 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 8,841, other foreigners 5,769, overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 2,591, and Marriage migrants 736. Children of foreign residents number 1,189, which ranks 103 among 252 districts and is 5.7% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 15,313 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 8,062 people at 52.6%, Permanent Residence (F5) with 1,125 at 7.3%, and Specially Designated Activities (E7) with 1,124 at 7.3%. Organizations that support immigrants number 8 in this district, or 5.2 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
