Jeollanam-do Goheung-gun

Registered foreigners in Jeollanam-do Goheung-gun number 2,842, which is 4.78% of the resident-registration population of 59,455. That is above both the national average of 3.14% and the Jeollanam-do average of 3.69%. It ranks 51 among the 250 districts. Within Jeollanam-do it ranks 6 of 22. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 790 in 2015 to 2,842, an increase of about 259.7%. 24 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Vietnam at 47.4%, Philippines at 16.6%, and Indonesia at 6.3%. The location quotient (LQ) for Vietnam is 3.9, and this one nationality is 47.4% of the foreigners in the district. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Tagalog/Filipino, then Khmer.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 3,637 in 2024, which is 6.2% of the resident-registration population of 58,776. Of these, 2,585 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 355 have acquired nationality, and 697 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 1,283, other foreigners 1,001, Marriage migrants 225, and overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 76. Children of foreign residents number 697, which ranks 164 among 252 districts and is 19.2% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 2,842 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 1,370 people at 48.2%, Seasonal Worker (E8) with 974 at 34.3%, and Marriage Migration (F6) with 213 at 7.5%. Organizations that support immigrants number 3 in this district, or 10.6 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
