Gyeonggi-do Paju-si

Registered foreigners in Gyeonggi-do Paju-si number 16,471, which is 3.13% of the resident-registration population of 526,005. That is below both the national average of 3.14% and the Gyeonggi-do average of 3.59%. It ranks 110 among the 250 districts. Within Gyeonggi-do it ranks 20 of 42. Over the past 10 years, registered foreigners rose from 9,731 in 2015 to 16,471, an increase of about 69.3%. 101 nationalities are counted, and the three largest are Nepal at 9.4%, Vietnam at 9.3%, and Korean-Chinese at 8.7%. It ranks 89 of 250 districts. Southeast Asia accounts for 44.2% and South Asia for 21.9%, and the two together are 66%. Language demand estimated from the nationality composition is highest for Vietnamese, then Khmer, then Chinese.

Foreign residents (MOIS) numbered 24,947 in 2024, which is 4.9% of the resident-registration population of 510,689. Of these, 19,468 do not hold Republic of Korea nationality, 2,398 have acquired nationality, and 3,081 are children of foreign residents. By type, foreign workers number 9,130, other foreigners 5,931, Marriage migrants 2,134, and overseas Koreans with foreign nationality 2,082. Children of foreign residents number 3,081, which ranks 13 among 252 districts and is 12.4% of foreign residents in this district. Among the 16,471 people with a known status of stay, the most common are Non-professional Employment (E9) with 7,950 people at 48.3%, Marriage Migration (F6) with 1,835 at 11.1%, and Permanent Residence (F5) with 1,401 at 8.5%. Organizations that support immigrants number 9 in this district, or 5.5 per 10,000 registered foreigners.
